A grey fog is eating the world's colour.
It is called the Forgetting. Every question you answer right makes Lumen — real light that pushes it back.
The four islands
Verbia
English
Meadows of giant letters and a castle built from stacked books.
Cíyǔ 词语
Chinese
Ink-brush mountains and bamboo villages lit by lanterns.
Numerion
Maths
Bridges made of equations and waterfalls that run like clockwork.
Eureka
Science
Glowing caves, volcanic springs and a sky that changes its mind.
What the Forgetting does
Luminara floats on four Wisdom Crystals, one for each kind of knowledge. The Forgetting is not darkness — it is knowledge going missing. Where it settles, plants wither, animals turn, and people lose words, names, and finally who they are.
Answer a question correctly and you release a pulse of Lumen. The fog pulls back. Creatures caught in it are freed. The land remembers itself.
Stop playing for a day and the fog creeps back in — so the world really does depend on what your hero knows.
For parents
When Light Fades is a free browser game for children in P1–P6. Questions follow Singapore's MOE syllabus, and difficulty adapts to how your child is actually doing.
See the parent dashboard- Questions follow the MOE syllabus
- English, Chinese 华文, Maths and Science, across P1 to P6. Every question is checked by a second AI model before any child sees it.
- Nobody can buy their way to being stronger
- Combat power comes only from answering questions. Real money buys cosmetic items and nothing else — not equipment, not hints, not levels.
- No open chat
- Children play together on raids without a public chat lobby, so there is no channel for strangers to reach them.
- You can see what they practised
- The dashboard shows which subjects and topics your child worked on this week, and where they are finding things hard.
